  2. A.  SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  3.  
  4. WISDOM OF THE AGES for Windows will work with any IBM or compatible PC
  5. running Windows 3.1 or Win 95 with a VGA graphics card and hard disk drive
  6. with about 6.6 megabytes of free disk space.  (An extra 1.5 megabytes is
  7. temporarily needed for installation.)

  10. B.  INSTALLATION OVERVIEW FOR A BBS DOWNLOAD
  11.  
  12. Before you can use WISDOM OF THE AGES for Windows you have to run the SETUP
  13. program from Window's Program Manager so it will work properly on your
  14. computer.  YOU CANNOT JUST COPY THE UNZIPPED FILES TO A DIRECTORY ON YOUR
  15. HARD DISK.  WIS_PAK.EXE is a self extracting archive.  The SETUP program
  16. will expand it; put files in their correct places; and optionally create a
  17. Windows Program Group.

  20. C.  INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
  21.  
  22. Although the program can be installed to any Target Directory on any Hard
  23. Disk Drive, the instructions below assume that you are using the default
  24. values of:
  25.  
  26.     Hard Disk Drive:    C:
  27.     Source Directory:    \DOWNLOAD  (Where the UnZipped Files are Located.)
  28.     Target Directory    \WISDOM25
  29.  
  30. If you use different values modify the instructions accordingly.

  32. We suggest that you Move WISWIN25.ZIP to a floppy disk and save it as your
  33. backup copy before proceeding.
  34.  
  35. 1. The installation process is started by running SETUP.  Since SETUP is a
  36.    Windows application, you must start Windows (if you haven't already done
  37.    so), then
  38.      Windows 3.1 Users - select Files|Run from Program Manager's menu.
  39.      Windows 95 Users  - select Start|Run.
  40.    In the provided text box type C:\DOWNLOAD\SETUP and click <OK>.*
  41.    (* Where "DOWNLOAD" is the name of the directory containing the UnZipped files from
  42.    files from WISWIN25.ZIP.)

  44. 2. SETUP assumes you will install to C:\WISDOM25.  You will be given the
  45.    opportunity to change this assumption.  SETUP will also ask your
  46.    permission to create a WISDOM Program Group and populate it with group
  47.    files.  Unless you'd prefer to do this yourself, we'd suggest you answer
  48.    "Yes." **

  50. 3. The entire SETUP procedure takes about four minutes.  Much of that time
  51.    will be spent unpacking compressed files.  When SETUP is done, there
  52.    will be about a six second delay when nothing seems to be happening, and
  53.    then WISDOM OF THE AGES will start to run.
  54.  
  55. 4. After the program has run, you can delete all the WISWIN files NOT in
  56.    the target directory, such as WISWIN25.ZIP and WIS_PAK.EXE.

  59.        **  Please wait three seconds before answering "Yes."  This dialog
  60.         will briefly flash on the screen before the files have been
  61.         unpacked - Windows 95 users will hear a sound when this happens.
  62.         Some 386 owners, with quick reflexes, have managed to answer "Yes"
  63.         before the files have been unpacked.  If you wait three seconds,
  64.         you're sure to answer "Yes" at the right time.
